Welcome to Beautiful Lake Almanor!

If you have never been to this area, you are in for a very special treat.  With pristine Lake Almanor for boating, watersports, fishing, swimming and the surrounding forest and mountains for hiking, camping, exploring and viewing wildlife, you will not find a more beautiful spot to enjoy.  The area offers a championship golf course, as well as two beautiful 9-hole courses.  For bicycle enthusiasts, there is a picturesque 9-mile paved path along the west shore of the lake.  Lassen Volcanic National Park is nearby with scenic drives and hikes featuring an active volcano, lakes and bubbling lava pools. Only 35 miles from an active volcano! 

The Chester/Lake Almanor Basin is located 2.25 hours northwest of Reno, 2.5 hours north of Tahoe and 1.25 hours northeast of Chico. The Lake Almanor Basin is known as "California`s best kept secret" and for good reason.  Come enjoy yourself and spend a couple extra days to relish this beautiful mountain country.  Please pack your camera -- you`ll want to capture all the spectacular scenery!  (See bottom of this page for area map and link to driving directions.)
