"Beginning Watercolor"  -  April 17 & 18

"No Experience Necessary!"  In a fun and positive environment, you will learn the fundamentals of watercolor with successful results.  As an artist for more than 35 years, Deb has taught hundreds of beginning students to see the world through new eyes and catch the excitement of watercolor.  This class covers paints, brushes, papers, washes, wet-into-wet, dry brush, special techniques, exploding color, glazing and much more.  Always wanted to try watercolor?  Now is the time to get your feet wet...the water's fine!  Also, a good 'refresher' course if you’re looking for a creative boost back into watercolor.

“Watercolor Magic" - May 22 & 23

      Instructor:  Deb Groesser

We'll loosen up with magical wet-into-wet paintings, and then tighten things back up with some more controlled painting styles.  Many fun techniques will be shared and you can let the paint fly!  Learn to get into the “zone” and increase your creative flow.  Whether you are newer to watercolor or a seasoned veteran, you are guaranteed to enjoy this watercolor experience and expand your horizons in this fast-moving workshop.  Deb has been teaching art workshops for more than twenty years and is also the owner of the Blue Goose Fine Art Gallery in Chester.

“Soapstone Carving” - June 17, 18 & 19
          Instructor:  Bill Peters
This will be a real 'hands on' outdoor class.  Ready to try something new?  Students begin with sculpting clay under Bill's direction and move on to carving small soapstone pieces, then on to larger soapstone works as they progress.  You’ll learn about materials, techniques, tools, finishes and much more and will take home finished pieces.  Bill is an exceptional instructor, and you are guaranteed to have a fun and productive learning experience.  Several of his soapstone pieces are on display at the Blue Goose Gallery.    Treat yourself to a fascinating workshop and amaze yourself and all your friends with your new found talents!

“Plein Air Oil Painting” - July 16, 17 & 18

      Instructor:  Diane McClary

Diane graduated from the University of Washington with a focus on both art and education, and has taught workshops in many locales, including Africa and France.  Now making her home in Southern California, she is well known as the ‘painter of the desert’.  She has won numerous awards, and her work has been featured in many solo exhibitions across many states and in several museums.  Diane loves to teach, and will share her methods of successful outdoor painting in oils, especially focusing on color, color harmony, light and shadow, mood and composition.  You will enjoy her warmth and learn from her years of experience.  So bring your hat and your comfortable shoes as you enjoy painting with Diane on location at various spots around LakeAlmanor.
